Brown Jordan

Both the Fremont Cushion and Fremont Sling collections illustrate designer John Caldwell’s copious design skills and showcase Brown Jordan’s unrivaled almost 80-years expertise with seamless cast-aluminum. Distinguished by simple, modern lines, low slung frames, and timeless Neoclassical influences, Fremont brings a touch of formality to outdoor living.


Fremont

Japanese designer Tadao Inouye created this pivotal mid-century modern collection for Brown Jordan in 1956 using the latest lightweight extruded aluminum and sun-and-weather-resistant vinyl straps. Typifying the spirit of breezy southern California living, Kantan won the award for most innovative use of aluminum at the first International Casual Furniture Association Market in Chicago. To celebrate Brown Jordan’s 70th anniversary in 2015, we reissued Kantan in new mix and match frame finishes with Vinyl laces or Suncloth laces. That year Kantan won the same award at the same furniture market once again, a testament to Kantan’s enduring design.

Designer John Caldwell’s Pasadena collection pays homage to the sunny birthplace of Brown Jordan and the company’s mid-century California roots. Seamlessly crafted designs also showcase our 80 years of innovation in cast and hand forged aluminum. The timeless collection is available as Pasadena Cushion and Pasadena Sling.

John Caldwell created the award-winning Parkway collection for Brown Jordan in 2010. With pure, clean lines, precise geometry, and advanced ergonomics, the modernist collection has been translated in 3 innovative Brown Jordan materials including Parkway Sling, Parkway Cushion, and Parkway Flex. Caldwell also designed a Modular version of the collection.
