Oliver
Introducing a new collection by Ann Marie Vering that captures the carefree glamor of summer behind the wheel of a 1964 Fiat Jolly, the ultimate Italian beach car. To Vering, the Jolly’s wicker bucket seats radiate that era’s la dolce vita charm.
A toast to golden age summer style. For any time of year.
Oliver re-imagines the Jolly’s bucket seat in lightweight forged aluminum and hand woven rope. Above, the collection’s sofa and loveseat.
INSPIRED BY A JOLLY
Fiat created the Jolly in the 60’s and they became de rigueur among the jet set who would use them for short errands or take them on the yacht to use while in port.
A DEFINITIVELY MODERN PROFILE
Vering’s new aerodynamic design floats a hand-tied rope seat over a low-profile frame, then locks it invisibly in place.
AN UNFAMILIAR TWIST
The twisted branch of an olive tree inspired the twist in Oliver’s arms.
“I wanted to translate the essence of the bucket seats into Oliver,” explains Ann. “To keep the charm and freedom of the past and mesh it with the now.”
All the freedom of a Jolly, all the comfort and support Brown Jordan is known for.
Vering’s new aerodynamic design updates the bucket seat concept by floating a hand-tied rope seat over a low-profile frame, then locking it invisibly in place. Equally innovative is Vering’s elegant handling of materials. She capitalizes on the brand’s expertise in frame technology by combining solid, extruded and custom-cast metal elements to shape a definitively modern profile.
Sinuous aluminum arms follow the body’s natural positioning, and the relaxed pitch feels as generous as it looks. Stylish piped cushions for seating, chaise and ottoman extend Oliver’s ability to melt seamlessly into any outdoor or indoor setting echoing the sprezzatura of mid-century furniture classics from Gio Ponti or Ico Parisi. In short, the ten-piece Oliver collection is a toast to golden-age summer style. For any time of year.
Oliver’s signature design elements – sculptural, low-profile metal frames and weather-proof nautical rope – are seamlessly translated into the collection’s timeless Chaise.
